About 75% of all the paper and cardboard that is used is collected and recycled. The material collected is separated into different qualities either manually or using special sieves and pneumatic technologies in specialist processing plants. The paper is shredded, baled and used in the paper-manufacturing industry for the production of boxes, newspapers and tissue products. The fibre in the paper can be re-used up to 7x.
Paper waste includes newspapers, journals, advertising material, books, reports, paper bags, photocopy paper, folders, envelopes, cardboard boxes and other packaging that is made of paper and cardboard.
