From old scrap iron to CO2 savings
Scrap is the collective name for mixed metal products and materials. Mixed scrap is shredded at processing plants, contaminants are removed and it is sorted into valuable non-ferrous metals such as copper, aluminium and bronze. Sorted metals immediately form raw materials for various new metal products and components. Recycling metals helps save a significant amount of CO2 compared to the use of primary raw materials.
