Caring for our people and ecosystems

At Renewi, our comprehensive approach to safety, employee wellbeing, diversity, and community impact underscores our dedication to sustainability. We aim to create a safe, inclusive, and sustainable working environment for all.

Safety first: our zero-accident ambition

At Renewi, safety is our highest priority. We are dedicated to fostering a zero-accident culture throughout our organisation. Many initiatives contribute to this, including standards aimed at eliminating risks where employees work closely with vehicles and machinery, and continuous training programs to achieve safety at all levels.
We have adopted International Sustainability Rating System (ISRS) to integrate best-in-class safety practices, focusing on safety leadership, risk awareness, and investment in appropriate tools and equipment. We track key metrics like lost-time injury rate (LTIF), employee mood, and healthy at work rate to ensure continuous improvement.

Creating a rewarding, diverse, and inclusive working environment

We aim to make Renewi a rewarding, diverse, and inclusive workplace through initiatives in a variety of areas. We drive employee development through comprehensive learning opportunities, diversity in our workforce and incorporating unconscious bias training in our recruitment processes. We encourage employee health through in-depth vitality training and coaching and we ensure fair and equal rewards by harmonising conditions across our operations.

Community and ecosystem Impact

Renewi is committed to positively impacting communities and ecosystems. We engage with local communities, address complaints promptly, and report on significant environmental incidents. Our proactive measures reduce risks such as fires and improve waste management practices.
