Towards higher recycling rates: our path to sustainable resource management. Renewi places a strong emphasis on improving its recycling rate and is determined to prevent the loss of valuable resources. We focus on the sorting and recycling segment of the circular economy, taking action to ensure the sustainable value of materials, when avoidance, reuse, or refurbishment options are not feasible. By returning circular materials to the market, Renewi reduces the extraction and exploitation of virgin resources, thereby avoiding millions of tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions.

Our progress can be seen through our recycling rate and mission to achieve a recycling rate of 75%. With a recycling rate of 63%, we have successfully diverted millions of tonnes of waste from landfills and ensured the contribution of materials to material cycles.
Moving forward, our focus remains on sourcing more inbound materials to produce more and higher-quality outbound circular materials.

Thus, we generate biogas with a low carbon footprint, produce renewable electricity from waste, and decontaminate wastewater for reuse. These activities contribute to a more sustainable future, promoting the circularity of resources and help decarbonise both our operations and our customers' activities.
